RAF Wyton

  • The RAF Wyton project was a design, construction and facilities management scheme in Cambridgeshire

A secure defence facility

We designed and built a secure facility at RAF Wyton, Cambridgeshire, for the Ministry of Defence, to support the Defence Intelligence modernisation programme.

This included main technical buildings, three squadron blocks for 42 Engineer Regiment (Geographic), plus all associated supporting buildings, recreational facilities and external spaces, increasing the available services on the site.

Our team also delivered the architectural, structural and civil design, along with the mechanical and electrical management and installation for the new buildings.

Planned maintenance

The customer experienced a smooth transition, thanks to us being contracted to deliver the hard facilities management and repairs services after handover.

Planned and cyclical maintenance was delivered to:

  • maintain the visual appearance of the buildings
  • maintain a safe, comfortable working environment
  • minimise down-time for critical plant
  • protect the base and minimise whole-life costs

Zero accidents

Our reactive maintenance service team fixed minor repairs and maintained the daily operations of building plant and controls. They were also first responders to breakdown and emergency maintenance requests, ensuring fast, effective and safe resolution.

RAF Wyton was also a very safe project, with no workforce accidents within the facilities management contracted period.
