Skanska was invited to provide pre-construction and construction management services for the 3rd Floor Patient Beds shell space build-out project for Baptist Health South Florida after successfully completing construction of the 392,000-SF, 120-bed Homestead Hospital project.
The 3rd Floor Patient Beds project includes converting 18,000-SF of shell space in the medical office building wing of the hospital into a 27-bed Med/Surg unit to help the Homestead Hospital address the rapidly increasing patient loads since the opening of the new hospital in May of 2007.
The area includes 27 new patient/observation rooms, three nurse stations, support offices and utility/service room facilities, with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and medical gas services serviced from connections to existing systems in the main hospital.
