This project included the construction of a new park and restoration of an existing concrete parking structure with a roof top garden, and construction of new museum facilities for the Tampa Museum of Art which was relocated from an outdated structure on the new park site that was be demolished. Overlooking the Hillsborough River, the nine acre redesigned park provides open green spaces for residents and tourists to congregate, dine, experience outdoor concerts and events, and stroll along Tampa’s expanded Riverwalk.

Spaces accommodated in the new 80,000-SF museum facility include art gallery space, storage/work areas, educational spaces, conference and lecture rooms, and offices. The museum is sheathed in pierced aluminum and shimmer as the sunlight changes on its surface. Housed within the metal skin is a programmable LED lighting, which allows the exterior of the building to become a “canvas” giving the museum thousands of options for changing designs.
