The new Skanska office project has received its LEED Platinum Pre-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Scoring 92 points out of a total of 106, Green House is the first Platinum project in Hungary and will be the greenest office building in Budapest.
Sustainability is top priority during the whole life cycle of Green House; from the design throughout the construction and the operation phases. Receiving the highest Platinum LEED pre-certification, Skanska’s effort has now been confirmed. The project gained maximum number of scores for energy efficiency, sustainable sites and water efficiency categories. ”Our goal to create the landmark ‘green office building’ in Budapest is being realized now. Minimized environmental impact, decreased energy consumption and CO2 emissions are just some of the great achievements of Green House” says Andreas Lindelöf the managing director of Skanska Property Hungary. “Our future tenants will not only have a sustainable office but lower operational costs and a healthier working environment.” Green House is located in the central 13th District of Budapest on the main office corridor of the city. Having a green park next to the building and great public transportation connections the project will be an ideal place for those who want to be part of the city vibe but still prefer to have a green indoor and outdoor environment. 18,500 sq m gross leasable office space and 7 floors with a landscaped garden and roof terrace is also part of the project. Green House will be handed over in the second half of 2012. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary system for measuring sustainability.
