Skanska sends donations to support Haiti

Budapest, February 9th. – Skanska donates USD 50.000 to support victims of the earthquake in Haiti. The contribution that will be made through the United Nations, has been announced by Johan Karlström, President and CEO of the Swedish construction and property developer company.

Skanska’s main policy for donations in conjunction with disasters and accidents is to send support personnel, equipment and expertise to place when possible. If that’s not possible, they contribute to aid organizations. Such actions have been taken in conjunction with catastrophes like New York terror attack of September 11, 2001, flooding in Czech Republic and hurricane Katrina.

Above these, Skanska has occasionally made contributions through aid organizations for example in case of with major earthquake in Pakistan and the Tsunami disaster in South-East Asia for years ago.

The past years, Skanska in Hungary has supported the children of SOS-Children’s Village.
