A Skanska-led joint venture was awarded the $772 million design-build project to construct the first phase of the highly anticipated BART Silicon Valley Extension in Northern California. The 10-mile light rail transit project features two stations and six at-grade crossings. The project also encompasses installation of 37 miles of track and rehabilitation or construction of 20 bridges.
