Safety Education Acitivites
During Safety Week 2010, Skanska hosted a daily safety trivia contest with prizes for all correct answers. We sponsored an all-hands lunch and invited the University of Washington project managers to talk to the crews about the importance of safety on campus projects. A local vendor provided ladder safety training and another vendor discussed footwear and proper safety gear.
During Safety Week 2011, Skanska enlisted the help of the three major subcontractors onsite to present a daily safety topic to crews. Topics included rigging, fall protection and electrical safety.
Other safety trainings have included four-hour Injury Free Environment® (IFE) orientation, supervisor skills training, pre-task plan training, first aid/CPR/AED training, scissor lift training, boom lift training, OSHA 30, fall protection training and scaffold user training.
